Vasilaki - Kerea - Paleochora   Grade: Easy   Total Distance: 5.5 km. This relaxed short walk is a perfect introduction into the pleasures on foot that Crete can offer. A short transfer brings you to the start of the walk close to the tiny hamlet of Vasilaki. Nearing this attractive village you will be surprised by its wealthy greenery and beautiful old houses. From here an old mule track brings you to the antennas on top of the mountain Kerea (365 m.) with stunning views over Paleochora and the south coast as far as the White Mountains above the Samaria Gorge. An easy descent takes you back into Paleochora. Booking fee € 6.00, which includes a map, route description and GPS track plus € 5.00 pp. for the transfer per minibus to the start of the walk. WI-2 Gods, Graves and Vultures

Voutas - Ayia Triada - Sarakiniako Valley - Paleochora     Grade: Easy-Medium    Total Distance: 11.8 km. Start in the village of Voutas. Follow a well-defined track into the Pelekaniotiko valley which is dotted with spring flowers and leads to a steep rocky slope where several vultures nest each year. The next stop is the authentic hamlet of Ayia Triada. From there descend into the Sarakiniatiko valley rich in botanical variety. Follow the river and end up at Kakavopetra beach. A final 45 minute walk will take you back to Paleochora. Booking fee € 6.00, which includes a map, route description and GPS track plus € 9.50 pp. for the transfer per minibus to the start of the walk. WI-3 Classics of the Selino Region

Spaniakos - Azogires - Anidri - Paleochora    Grade: Medium   Total Distance: 14.9 km. This walk starts in the village of Spaniakos. Follow an old footpath to the attractive village of Azogires, where you can find refreshments at the local kafenion. The huge plane tree and the monastery tell the legend of the 99 Saints. Picturesque Anidri is the next village with the graceful medieval church of Agios Georgos. Be surprised by the descent through the attractive gorge of Anidri to enjoy the sandy Gialiskari Beach at the end, which is a perfect place for a refreshing swim. The dirt road back to Paleochora will take an hour. Booking fee € 6.00, which includes a map, route description and GPS track plus € 8.50 pp. for the transfer per minibus to the start of the walk. Azogires – 99 Saints Cave – Turkish Fort – Paleochora   Grade: Medium   Total Distance: 11.5 km. From the village of Azogires the walk starts with a steady climb to the ‘cave of the 99 Saints’, a spot of legends. The cave proves to be much more than a simple cavern, it is a complex of huge cracks of intriguing beauty high on the mountain slope. Next stop are the ruins of a small fort dating back to the Turkish domination; an amazing location with formidable views. A long and gradual descent along a century’s old mule path – only recently cleaned and restored by Paleochora Nature - brings you back into Paleochora. Booking fee € 6.00, which includes a map, route description and GPS track plus € 7.50 pp. for the transfer per minibus to the start of the walk. Paleochora - Anidri - Gialiskari - Paleochora      Grade: Easy-Medium      Total distance: 12 km. Take the old mule path from Paleochora up to the charming village of Anidri. The church of Ayios Georgos with fascinating medieval wall paintings is surely worth a visit. Be surprised by the descent through the attractive Anidri gorge and enjoy the sandy Gialiskari Beach at the end, which is a perfect place for a refreshing swim.
